Elections update: INEC staff scamper as explosion rocks polling unit in Enugu
An explosion has occurred at WTC School
1,polling unit at about 7.38AM which left voters and
officials of the Independent National Electoral
Commission,INEC, scampering for safety.
Two others were detonated at about 8.56AM at the same
premises by the operatives of the Anti-Bomb Squad of
the Enugu Police command.
According to an eyewitness,the bombs were laden in a
Honda car which was parked beside the entrance gate of
the school.
As at the time of filing this report, accreditation has not
started at the centre and most centres in the state.

confirmed the incident at the scene of the incident
saying,’three bombs were found in a Honda Accord car
with registration. Number KUJ 971 ABJ.
“One of the bombs exploded while we have just
successfully detonated two. It was an Improvised
Explosive Device,IED. We do not know who plant it.
“We are working assiduously to unravel the identity of
the suspects. The suspects abandoned the car at the
entrance gate. We are working to get the area safe.”
